Community Engagement
As part of the pro-seminar, each student commits to a community engagement activity in consultation with the program coordinator. This component reflects the program’s philosophy of immersion—finding opportunities to experience the fabric of Parisian and French life beyond the classroom. By connecting with the local community independently and in French on a weekly basis, students strengthen their language skills while engaging in authentic cultural exchange. Past participants have volunteered, joined sports teams, taken part in music or dance activities, or become involved with campus clubs or organizations. Alumni frequently highlight this experience as one of the most meaningful aspects of the program, offering a chance to practice French, build relationships, and deepen their understanding of French culture through lived experience.
