Around the world, Brown University students are engaged in transformative learning experiences that stimulate intellectual discovery, shared knowledge and translational impact. Brown's global programs offer Brown and visiting students opportunities for immersive experiences and integration into diverse academic settings, while challenging students to gain new perspectives in an ever-changing world. Many students who participate in Brown’s global programs develop new academic interests, enhance their language and intercultural skills, and bring a renewed focus to their studies and their lives.
Whether studying abroad for a semester or year through one of Brown's distinctive Global Centers, directly enrolling in a university overseas, participating in a Brown faculty-led summer program abroad, or learning beyond the classroom through an international internship, students can choose from an array of global opportunities designed to enrich their intellectual pursuits and cultivate cross-cultural awareness.
Administered through the Office of Global Engagement, Brown operates a number of study abroad centers around the world. These programs are focused on immersive experiences that allow students to pursue their academic interests while learning from faculty and students at host universities and study centers. Each center is supported by on-site staff, who provide student support, advising, and organize cultural and experiential activities for students on-site. To learn more about Brown's Global Centers we invite you to explore our Semester Program offerings.
In addition to Brown's Global Centers, the Office of Global Engagement has partnered with Summer Sessions at Brown to launch a portfolio of Global Summer Programs which will open with three Brown faculty-led summer session study abroad programs in 2024.
We encourage you to explore these programs in depth through the links below and to take a moment today to reflect upon either your own study abroad experience or perhaps the ways in which cross-cultural interactions have impacted your life in unexpected ways.
